It's like the Rosseta Stone for awakening of all our African countries than fought through colonialism only to wind up in the trap of neo-colonialism.<br /><br />Same fishing hook, different technique.<br /><br />It is perfectly understandable that the Kenyan govt was falling over itself to keep such a book out of mainstream. It collates all those thoughts in one's head that you cannot seem to grasp hold of quickly enough, tightly enough or completely enough.<br /><br />Ngugi takes those thoughts, beats them into submission and hands them to you in a neat little package, complete with a pink bow.<br /><br />Reccommending reading this book to everyone I know in Ghana.
